You would not need to embed the text when using display as password. When using this property the text is never shown, it's replaced with asterisks. Does your embedded font contain a character for asterisk? Are you including the special character with the embed code?

Thank you everyone for the great feedback! Nigel, your comment marks the 100th comment on my blog :)

I had someone else ask on the .autosize property. Autosizing an empty text field will effectively shrink the size down to 1px by 1px. Which basically makes it invisible. Like Joe mentioned above, it doesn't really make sense to set this property for an input text field.

Thanks for that, it was starting to drive me a little bit nuts.

"The order of operations for setting properties of TextFields in ActionScript is VERY important. " - I was planning to write a guide on exactly that. The problem is I still haven't figured it out.

I generally start off with something really basic, then set properties one by one, then when a new property breaks something or doesn't work, I try it in different places. Hardly a good use of my time.

Hi Luis - would an autoSize for Input text make sense anyway?

Hi Christopher Black - just want to thank a lot for this little useful line! After days and nights of trials to avoid empty input fields - this made me really happy today.
